A Building Defects Report is a post construction report to identify builder’s defects.

A HAPPI Building Defect Reports provides a written list which can then be presented to the builder for action to be undertaken. A Building Defect Report will often also identify if the builder is seen to be responsible for any given defect and may identify if the items have been carried out to acceptable industry standards.

It is prudent to have a Building Defects Report carried out after practical completion of building works and also prior to the expiry of standard builders warranty periods. The common builders warranty periods are 3 years for non-structural defects and 7 years for defects of a structural nature.
